Soulful Sunday: Dead Situations

Are you hurting about something from the past? Still holding on to a relationship that is far beyond its expiration date? Do you still have anger built up about something that happened 2 days or 2 minutes ago? Regardless of the scenerio, they are ALL dead situations.

When something expires, the use of it becomes limited. Over time it becomes unbearable. Take milk for example, you see the curdling, so do you still drink it? Meats & fruits, you see that it is discolored and it smells, do you eat it? NO because it’s dead, expired, over it’s shelf life, it looks ugly, it stinks and you know you can’t eat it because your body will grow sick and eventually go through the process of extracting it from your system.

With this, why do we allow dead situations to continue to take root in our mind, body and soul? They cause insecurities, inner turmoil, stress, depression, high blood prrssure, anxiety, and the most extreme result..DEATH
(mental, spiritual, & physical).

Bury what’s dead! Demand your peace, rid yourself of anything that doesn’t make or add to your happiness.

Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent.

But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too. ”

Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord . Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun. Be still in the presence of the Lord , and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. Soon the wicked will disappear. Though you look for them, they will be gone. The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.
